A two-day event took place at Oculus Connect 6 from Facebook on September 26and 27, where the social media giant presented the new functions and applications of its Virtual Reality division – including Facebook Horizon.

Cyber crime is on the rise – recently released figures from both the police and the Office for National Statistics (ONS) have revealed the extent of the problem faced not just by the authorities, but anyone with an online presence.
The jobs market isn’t as competitive as it once was – 2015 saw a noticeable rise in the number of graduates turning down or reneging on job offers that they had previously accepted.
Figures from HighFliers.co.uk, an independent market research company which specialises in student and graduate recruitment research, revealed that this meant over 1,000 graduate positions were left unfilled last year, reducing the graduate intake at almost a third of the UK’s leading employers.

The Apple iPhone battery isn’t renowned for its long life or ability to hold a charge – after a couple of months your mobile spends that much time plugged into the wall, it may as well be a landline – but a batch of 6s models have a fault that makes them shut down, even if the battery has plenty of charge.
As far as faults go, it’s hardly up there with Samsung’s exploding Note 7 battery, but if you’re affected, it’s certainly going to cause a headache – if not a fire – and Apple is offering to replace any offending batteries.

UK internet providers are misleading the vast majority of customers when advertising broadband speed – but things could be about to change if a cross-party group of 50 MPs gets its way.
Ok, so you’ve set up your conference call, sent emails to all the participants and set up text message reminders to make sure even the most absent-minded don’t forget about it.
Then you check your calendar in Outlook and someone has gone and scheduled a meeting for the exact time you booked a conference call – it’s not their fault, they couldn’t see your plans in the company calendar.

If you work from home there’s a good chance you use some sort of cloud-based software to store, share and edit files and documents. And following Microsoft’s re-branding of SkyDrive as OneDrive, it’s clear the big-hitters are taking the cloud very seriously.

Having thankfully never spent any time ‘at Her Majesty’s pleasure’ – or ever even known anyone who has – I’m not sure how much of a problem mobile phones in prison are.
