Key points from Apple keynote

Spring Loaded – the eagerly-awaited Apple Event – took place this week. Tim Cook and his team presented a variety of new devices. Here are the highlights of the keynote in the summary.
What next from Apple?

iPad Pro

The presentation of the Spring Loaded began with the unveiling of the new iPad Pro. The main focus was on the built-in processor: The in-house M1 chip, which is already used in the current MacBook generation, should also help the iPad Pro to achieve high performance. As a result, the tablet is increasingly becoming an independent device and could even replace a computer for some users. An improved display and high-quality graphics chips also enable high-performance applications on the iPad Pro. Ultra-wide and wide-angle cameras as well as LiDAR scanners make the tablet interesting for optical work. The new tablet is available from 879 euros with a display size of 11 inches.

iMac

Another highlight of the Spring Loaded event was the presentation of the new iMac. The tech company honed the design in particular: the new iMac product range is slim and modern, and comes in brand new colors. Apple also equipped their desktop computer with the new M1 chip. Together with functions such as machine learning , the new iMac should represent the next generation of work computers – especially for the creative scene. This is available from 1,449 euros with a display size of 24 inches and two connections in four different colors.

Apple TV 4K, iPhone 12 and AirTag

In addition to these two devices, there were also minor revelations at Spring Loaded that were tough. For example, Apple presented the new Apple TV 4K, which has the same processor as the iPhone X series with the A12 Bionic Chip and can therefore play HDR videos. A new aluminum remote control is also included. Apple TV 4K can be ordered from April 30th with a storage capacity of 32 gigabytes for 199 euros.

Tim Cook and Co. did not present a new iPhone series, but there was still a new cell phone: The iPhone 12 is now also available in purple. Nothing has changed on the inside. In addition, Apple, like Samsung, now has a Bluetooth tracker in its range. The AirTag can be attached to a keychain or backpack, for example, and located using the iPhone. The app for this is available from iPhone 6s, although the precise search function is only available with versions 11 and newer. A single AirTag costs 35 euros; a pack of 4 is available for 119 euros.
